Competition Details

Miss Southeast Alabama and Miss Southeast Alabama's Teen will be held on Saturday, November 23 at 3 p.m.at the Dixon Performing Arts Center on the campus of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College in Andalusia, Alabama.

$10 Admission at the door (Cash, Venmo, Paypal, CashApp accepted)

The start time will be determined by the number of contestants and will be announced the week before the date of competition.​​

​

There will be a brief rehearsal the morning of Nov. 23 before the judges interview. ​​​

Competition Segments and Scoring

Private Interview - 30%

Talent / HERStory - 20%

Health & Fitness - 20%

Evening Gown - 20%

On-stage Conversation - 10%

Private Interview

  • 10 minutes (30 second opening statement about themselves and CSI, 9 and a half minutes of questions.)

  • The contestants will stand at a podium.

​On-Stage Conversation

  • One question regarding her Community Service Initiative. Takes place after opening number (same as interview outfit).

Health & Fitness

  • All contestants will need red for the fitness portion of competition. (More information can be found on the competition pages).

  • Contestants will do an upbeat walk on stage.​

Talent/HERStory

  • This presentation of talent/HERStory can be up to 90 seconds in length.

  • HERStory is an alternative to a typical fine arts talent presentation.

  • Talent can also still be a traditional fine arts talent (dance, vocal, piano, twirling baton, monologue, etc.) -- NEWLY approved talents are Ballroom and Extreme Cheer.

Evening Gown

  • The contestant can wear an evening gown of her choose that shows personal style.Neither the gown itself nor the estimated cost of the gown will be considered in scoring.

ABSOLUTELY NO food or drinks (including water) in the dressing room or on stage.

​PARENTS OR GUARDIANS

  • ONLY 1 female is welcome to assist with drop off but they are not allowed to stay in the dressing room.

  • Once the competition is over, ONLY 1 female is allowed in the dressing room to assist with departure.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER CROWNING

  • ALL CANDIDATES TO REMAIN ON STAGE AFTER CROWNING.  No one not affiliated with the competition is allowed on stage immediately after crowing.  We ask that spectators do not interfere during the taking of official photos as these need to be taken as quickly as possible. 

  • For those selected as Miss Southeast Alabama and Miss Southeast Alabama Teen, along with parents/guardians, you will have a meeting which will include signing official Miss Alabama / Miss Alabama's Teen paperwork and other documentation.  This meeting will be take place in a location announced that night.
